About Tanya

Originally from Nova Scotia, in 2004 I became one of many Maritimers to migrate to the North. I am grateful to live, work and play with my family in the traditional territory of Kwanlin Dun and the Ta’an Kwanchan Council in the Yukon. I am passionate about staying abreast of current knowledge while maintaining a warm, and at times, playful, presence. I am known to bring my whole, authentic self to sessions, and care deeply about the people who choose to work with me. It is important that our time together is purposeful and meaningful. Confidentiality is important, especially when living in a small town or city. I get that and will respect it.

While I have a special interest in trauma, my training and experience has covered a range of issues and modalities. I work with folks on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, substance use, addictions, managing stress, life transitions, PTSD and complex PTSD. Groups I’ve facilitated include trauma, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), parenting and substance use. If you are wondering about my experience with a specific issue or modality, please ask!

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you go; they merely determine where you start.”
